Rock The Hallways: Meet Lauren

Meet 15 year old Lauren from Atlanta Georgia.

Describe your style:
I would say that I am urban with a mix of vintage. I love mixing  prints and dressing very well weird I guess.
How did you start blogging: When I was younger I had the idea to start a street style blog where I would just find people with stellar style and blog about them. That didn't really get itself off the ground, but last summer I started accumulating a lot of my writings about fashion and I decided to post it on my blog. The rest is history.

Dream Career:  I want to be a writer for a fashion magazine. I'd love to write my own column on like street fashion or something. If that doesn't work out I'd love to work in the PR industry somewhere in fashion.

Song Currently Loving: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun remixed by the Maine
Favorite TV show: Adventure Time

Current trend you've noticed at school: Just when I thought UGG boots (my worst enemy) was taking over the halls of my school, I noticed that everyone went out and bought a pair of tall fringe mocassin boots to start a new trend of shoes everyone at school must have in their closet. Also I've noticed when girls at my school claim to "dress up"  it involves them putting on a pencil skirt and a see through collared shirt.
Any tips on confidence for other girls when it comes to having a style different from their peers: Find a good color of red lipstick and the darkest pair of sunglasses you can find, then walk into the room and own it! No but really my mantra is stick it to the man, be rebellious and forget what people think of you. You're original and the haters are probably just clones of someone else.

Rock The Hallways: Meet Leah

Meet 16 year old Leah from the UK who loves photography and all things vintagy

Where are you from? I live in the UK near London, a town called Bath
What does style mean to you?
To me style is a way of expressing yourself, but not with words. It reflects who you are or in some cases who you want to be. I love the freedom we as a society have to (mostly) wear what we like and not be judged.
Current trends you've notice at school.
Well my school has really a strict uniform code (like today I was told off about wearing a round necked jumper instead of v necked - so ridiculous!) so we don't have much of a chance to expose our individual style. But creepers and navy military-esque coats are definitely big at my school.
 Dream Career?
I still have like no ideaa..umm maybe creative director at a brand would be cool, like The Kooples or Urban Outfitters or editor at a fashion magazine - I love Company! Or a graphic designer/ illustrator...anything to do with fashion and art basically.
Style Icons?
Alexa Chung, Lana Del Rey (her music videos are amazing and so inspiring, she's just awesome in general #lanafan),  I love Audrey Hepburn, Cara Delevigne and rita ora because of her gangsterness. If you could splurge on anything, what would it be?
A leather jacket.
Song currently loving.
Mathilda by Alt-J
One goal for 2013.
Eat less chocolate...
 Flats or Heels?
Flats all the way. Heels are for silly people that like putting themselves in pain (massive hypocrite)
Bold lipstick or Bold nailpolish?
Bold nailpolish! Lipstick alone scares me a bit.
 Favorite movie?
Breakfast at Tiffanys
Whats your go to outfit?
At the moment all I seem to wear are baseball sweaters and skater skirts with vans. I've also just bought a black bowler hat and that's not leaving my head any time soon!
Any tips on confidence for other girls when it comes to having a style different from their peers/ incrowd( popular kids)
First of all, there are no such thing as 'popular kids'. I like to think everyone is equal, just some people are more up themselves than others and that's what makes the 'incrowd'. Anyway, gona give you the obvious advice 'be yourself'. Literally, wear what you want even if you've never seen anyone else wear it, it will make you stand out and some people might even copy you! If that does happen, take it as a compliment and don't be one of those girls that are always like 'omg I wore that first'.

Rock The Hallways: Meet Linnie

Meet 16 year old Junior Linnie from Hanoi

What does style mean to you? Style is a way to express yourself, be individual you know, style can be a way a find your niche in a society where everyone is dying to look like one another.
Any Current Trend you've noticed at school? High waist bottoms and studs!
Dream Career? Work in a fashion magazine firm, as a marketer or editor, with a humble boss. Haha!
What do you do in your spare time when you're not blogging or at school? Finding new music and chillin with my friends
Style Icons? Velvet Codeine! Her blog’s awesome
If you could splurge on anything, what would it be? Probably shoes, or outerwear, or some really good ass foundation
Song Currently Loving? Electric Guest – This head I hold
One Goal for 2013? Maintain my current GPA
 Flats or Heels?  Flats!!
Bold Nail Polish or Bold Lipstick? Nail polish!
Favorite Movies? Pride & Prejudice
What would be your go to outfit? High waist shorts and a shirt tucked in and some white shoes

Any tips on confidence for other girls when it comes to having a style different from their peers/ incrowd( popular kids).First of all confidence stems from self-belief, so just wear something that’ll make you feel comfortable and pretty and the same time (even if it’s unorthodox in your school), I don’t mean look pretty but feel pretty! Whether your outfit is actually pretty may be questionable, but as long as you feel like a babe, and therefore believe that you look like a babe, your confidence is going up up up and this will rub off on the people around you, and they’re not going to give you any bullshit.

Rock The Hallways: Meet Tori

Meet Tori a 17 year old senior, from Richmond, Virginia.

What does style mean to you? Style means the world to me. It is one of the first things that people notice about you so therefore, is very important.

Current trends you've notice at school. My school isn't very "trendy." Most girls tend to wear UGGS and designer jeans but I choose to stick out from the crowd in pretty dresses and vintage pieces.

Dream Career? Anything in fashion! I plan on majoring in fashion merchandising when I go away to college next year which will allow me to work pretty much anywhere in the fashion industry. Working for a fashion magazine would be a dream come true!

What do you do in your spare time when you're not blogging or at school? I love sewings/ DIY's, working at Justice and taking Pilates.

Style Icons? Natalie Liao and Twiggy are big style icons in my eyes.

If you could splurge on anything, what would it be?- More Jeffrey Campbells! I just love the added height.

Song currently loving? Thrift Shop I'll admit, it's my guilty pleasure! Typically, I listen to music by Lana Del Rey, Broken Bells and the XX.

One goal for 2013?  Earn lots of scholarship money for college next year.

Flats or Heels?  Heels all the way!

Bold lipstick or Bold nail polish?,Can I say both? :)

Favorite movie? Some of my favorite movies include Breakfast at Tiffany's, Grease and the Breakfast Club.

Whats your go to outfit? Dress+ sweater+ heels

Any tips on confidence for other girls when it comes to having a style different from their peers/ in crowd( popular kids). Wear what you like. Sure you may get people staring at you (especially if you wear flower crowns or 5 inch heels like I do) but you should always dress in a style that's true to you. We're young and allowed to make fashion mistakes! It will help define our style.
